Best way to fix skin textures from old figure?

I have a skin texture with patterns for Genesis 1 I would like to use with Victoria 6. It works fine with the Genesis 1 figure but with Victoria 6 the texture doen't fit correctly. I tried to change the "UV Set" option for the skin but none of the available additional options "Base Female", "Victoria 4" or "Victoria 5" creates the error less fit I get when using the Genesis 1 figure. My next approach was to adjust the textures with a graphic editing software but after trying a couple hours it seems rather difficult to get decent results without knowing exactly where and how big a gap is as well as how the next texture connects. Is there an easy way to edit the textures similar to gimp/photoshop (brush tools) but while the texture is on the figure or are there other ways to fix this?

  • What is the UV Set when the textures are on, and fit, Genesis? Which UV Sets do you have for Genesis?

"Genesis Female" is the UV Set working with Genesis but for Victoria 6 its not listed as option.

  • Well, there isn't a Genesis 6 (yet awhile). Do you have one of the UV Sets for Genesis that you also have for Genesis 2 Female?

  • Probably, through experimentation, you can try using the Genesis female 2's uv sets with Victoria 6. Results are mostly non-predictable though.

    Good luck!

I can select the UV Set "Victoria 4" with both figures but the the skin texture doesn't fit with the Genesis 1 figure if Victoria 4 UV Set is selected. Is there a way to transfer the skin texture from the working Genesis 1 UV format to the Victoria 4 UV Set?

Yes, which is why I was asking if you had a common set between Genesis and Genesis 2 Female. You can use the map Transfer tool, available in the Surfces pane option menu (the lined button in the top corner, or right-click the tab) to do the conversion. This video describes the steps, though you can ignore the opening section about loading a UV set from an OBJ since you already have the UV sets loaded:

Ok I got it working with the video. I can convert now from Genesis to Victoria 4 and from there to Victoria 6. If at one point a compatible UV Set for Victoria 6 + 7 gets available I should be even able to use the skin with Victoria 7. This helps me a lot. Thank you for the help.

That is one thing that will never happen (it is a physical impossiblity)...but there are methods of converting to G3 from eariler generations.

That method looks also good. As of now I'm missing one or two alternative daz figures with Genesis 3 to switch. But in a couple months it will probably be different and I will experiment with Genesis 3. Its good to know there is alrady a way to do it. Thanks for the link.

Is this without the Tex_Converter_Prep morph? The texture conversion helper file from the link has only morphs for G2 and G3.

I did it in two steps...from V4 to G2F, then from that to G3F.
