What software do Daz shop artists use?

A noob question, but what are the most common programs used by artists selling thier work in the shop? What do they create in?

Id love to dabble, and know more about thier process / methods. Despite the shop having a wide range of products, there are so many times i can't find exactly what i need. So it would be interesting to create my own.

Thanks in advance.

Just about any modeling program...some use Blender, others Modo, Zbrush, Silo, etc.

Although, technically, ZBrush isn't a dedicated modeler.  It's a hybrid that is really great and aimed at the artist who is more interested in creating things quickly without necessarily needing the solid foundation of a traditional 3D model.  You can create things that can be used for assets, but it's just a very different workflow.

Hexagon is a really good one to start with, relatively easy to understand with lots of you tube videos as well as tutorials aimed specifially at creating content for using in Daz or Poser.  And the price is reasonable.  Sculptris is free its similar to Zbrush (which is most decidedly NOT free lol) although it used triangles instead of squares, its super fun and amazingly easy to learn.

Make Human is a also free, although I haven't had a chance to play with it much.
