Lips function not working with Genesis 2 (Instant Makeup V5 package)

in New Users
Apologies if this was addressed already, but when I enter my colors for the !Lips option from Instant Makeup V5 UV Skin sets on my Genesis 2 model the colors and patteren always appear on the top lip and under the nose. I read before purchasing that the Genesis 2 model would work okay with this package. Lashes and Blush seem to be fine. Just not the Lips modification. Am I missing something?

If they're made for V5 they will work on G2F but only when you use v5 UVs on her, if the texture you use as the base is made for another UV then it won't work.
Not to sound like a complete dummy, but I honestly don't understand UV's at all. I'm trying to find basic documentaion on what exactly is meant to the very term itself but I'm struggling. I'm a complete newbie to everything 3D. Basic navigation of the program is going smoothly so far otherwise. :)
Uv's are the maps that tell the program where things should go and what color they are. so the uv's for V5's face are basically a color map for her face telling the program where the color for the lips goes on the model where the eye and skin colors go etc. It also includes other stuff like bump maps and other stuff but I am too new to be able to explain that correctly in a way that makes sense.
So if you have a different uv map than what the program is built for and the lips are not in the same place you get the displacement that you are getting because the uv maps don't line up right.
Thanks! I think get the concept, but when purchasing the makeup package, Daz put in a note indicating that the V5 UVs come standard on Genesis 2 females. Therefore a model like Victoria 5 is not required. Does Daz mean that the base G2 model does not have V5 UVs, but any other g2 model purchased through Daz does have the V5 UV?
I hope that makes sense.
Tehe base Genesis 2 female has the Victoria 5 UV set. However, it also has other UV sets and if the texture you are wanting to apply the make-up to use one of those other sets then there will be a misalignment. What you may be able to do is create a Geometry Shel (Create>New Geometry Shell), hide all the unneeded parts in the Parameters pane, set its lip (and perhaps face) UV set to Victoria 5 in the Surfaces pane adn then apply the make-up overlay to that. By default the shell will hae a push modifier applied - lower the offset on that to just a shade above 0.
