Laptop 4070 - iray preview renders fine but renders black

I am wondering why I suddenly can't render anything more than a tiny scene w a figure or two at most. Issue started a few days ago. I have clean re-installed the studio driver numerous times, rolled back to the previous driver, come back to the current driver, no change. Each time the render fails I've had to do a ctrl+shift+opt+B reset on the card to get it to preview again. The preview render is still quite fast.

I am running DS 4.16.0.3, Windows 11 23H2 on a Razer Blade 13th gen i7 13000H, 32gb ram

    It sounds like you are running out of VRAM. Have you tried checking the log Help > Troubleshooting > View Log File.

    How much VRAM does your GPU have?

    Also check that you don't have characters or other items with high subD level, that can push your GPU over the edge.
