Hair appears as an orange shape and doesn't render

Just got this hair, but instead of looking like hair it appears as an orange shape, both in textured mode and in NVidia Iray rendered mode. How can I get rid of the orange and just see the hair itself, please?

I don't have that hair but there are a couple of things: Firstly, it looks like orange is your highlight colour and so is it just that the hair is currently highlighted? Also, several hairs do not render fully in iray preview mode so if that is the case you won't see the full effect unless you do an actual render.

Which tool is active? It is strand-based hair, according to the product page, which will not work if a mesh editing or set-up tool is active.
