Using script, any tips about how I could add an opaque black layer under the png images layers?

I've seen that but it looks kind of heavy for my use. Since there's a need for a base material anyway, I guess I will go that way with some kind of how-to to tell people they need to load the provided base mat before using LIEs. "Documentation" is supposed to have some use, after all.
