Link 2 seperate objects (Resolved)

Hi,

Is there a way in DS to link 2 seperate objects?. What I am looking for is to be able to (for example) rotate one object which will then rotate a second seperate object.

I know I can do that via rigging, but am trying to avoid rigging if possible.

not sure but instancing a hidden root object you parent it to might work

  • Hi WendyLuvsCatz,

    Thanks for reply.

Nearly works, unfortunatly, both objects rotate around null pivot point. I need them to rotate around individual pivot.

I stand corrected, it does work. Many thanks

I was originally setting up via custom property, when I should of been using Property Hierarchy-> controller.

    I am new to this.

  • Parent the second object to the first.

The two will then rotate around the origin of the first object.

If the first object's origin is not in the right place, it can be moved. I had the same problem.. The solution is the joint editor:
