Help on PC-specs

Hello everyone,

I have been using Daz3D for over a year now and I wanna buy a new rig to be able to render scenes at faster speeds, maybe even go into animation.

These are the specs I was thinking of. I would love some feedback on it.

- Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 7900x

-GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16 GB (or switching to a 4060 Ti 16 GB to lower the costs; is the 4070 Ti Super worth the extra money or is it overkill?)

-Storage: Crucial P3 Plus 2TB NVMe SSD

-Memory: Kingston 2 x 32 GB DDR5 5600

-Cooler: DeepCool Assassin IV

Thanks in advance

Bad Ash

  • You don't really need a massively powerful CPU for DS - it would probably be better to save there than on the GPU.

According to the benchmark topic, a 4070 Ti Super should be at least 2 times faster than a 4060 Ti:

    4060 Ti 16 GB

CUDA device 0 (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti): 1800 iterations, 1.139s init, 201.437s render

Total Rendering Time: 3 minutes 24.47 seconds

    4070 Ti Super

    Benchmark Results

    2024-02-01 12:32:46.240 Iray [INFO] - IRAY:RENDER ::   1.0   IRAY   rend info : CUDA device 0 (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER): 1800 iterations, 0.984s init, 98.888s render

Iteration Rate: 18.2 iterations per second

    Thanks for the fast replies.

@Richard: yeah I know Daz3d is mainly demanding on the GPU, but I am probably gonna use the PC for games as well. That is why I have chosen for a good CPU as well.

@Elor: that's great to hear. I was wondering if the 4070 Ti Super was worth the extra money, but if we are talking about half the render-time, I think it is worth it.

The intel i5-14600k seems to be cheaper and faster than the AMD with both single thread (DAZ Studio) and multi thread (gaming). I built a rig end 2022 with an i5-13600k that's still a powerful gaming box. Regards, Richard.
