Photo to 3D for Daz3d Figures
Phantom Studios

If discussed before... apologies.
I've seen many figures that look like celebreties. I would love to try and clone a real face to a figure?
Photogammtery is probably the best way to go. Has anyone dived into this area of 3D Modeling? Any open source
software that can accomplish this? I would love this to be a feature in DAZ Studio in the future? I have been researching this.
ZBrush is great but takes a long time and skill. Thoughts?

If you want to be able to use a character in Daz Studio it has to have rigging and corrective morphs. Therefore you would usually do it as a morph of a base character, i.e. where you keep all verteces and just move them around (a morph).
So have you considered this https://www.daz3d.com/face-transfer-2
I have looked into Face Transfer... keep getting a message pick from image picker?
Photogrammetry has many free applications. Not sure if they are open source though... not sure why thats relevant. I guess if you have a camera and a computer, you can use Meshroom.
Zbrush is not the only sculpting tool. There are other sculpting tools like Blender. It takes time to become proficient and time to make a likeness.
To use Photogrammetry you would need to have access to the face you want to scan and the resulting mesh will usually be low-ish poly unless you have a good scanning set up. With sculpting tools, you can sculpt anyone you want to at whatever level of detail you want.
