Importing .OBJ files

in New Users
Good morning!
I've been trying to import some .obj files that I've CADded up in various programs. When they're opened in Daz, they appear almost toally black and featureless. They're there, the outlines correct, and can be manipulated (translated). However, even when I add shaders, they remain black, or perhaps jus a slightly different shade of black. The same result occurs when I rty to render tham. Any ideas on how to alleviate this? I'd like to render some little parts that I'm CADding up for sale but until I can figure out this black issue I can't.
Manyt hanks,
Bob

Are they UV mapped? If you select all of the surfaces on the mdoel, then switch the view mode to UV, do you see a flattened version of your mesh in the viewport or just an empty square?
Are the items UV mapped?
Have you checked that the normals are pointing 'out'?
You can use the Geometry Editing tool to flip them.
