[Solved] issues with 3-in-1 ponytail (for g8) on a g9

Hoping someone can help me:

I'm trying to use https://www.daz3d.com/3-in-1-low-ponytails-hair-for-genesis-8-and-81-females on a g9.

Two problems:

1. During the conversion/autofit, the "head" part of the hair does just fine, but the ponytail (or braid) detatches from it. I'd be fine with manually moving it into place, except it won't move. I've tried deleting the tail/braid part (but not the head part) and undoing the delete to reload it. I've tried unparenting it. No dice; I can't get the thing to budge.

2. I can't get it to load any of the styles for the bangs.

Advice?

AutoFit tends not to do well with things that are far from the body, and will lose any custom bones. Since hair needs to fit only on the head the best approach is usually to use the basic transforms to line it up, plus a Smoothing modifier set to collide with the figure to deal with an poke-through (or a weight-mapped push modifier, for better performamnce since you don't have to wait for the smoothing to recalculate after each adjustment). and then just parent the hair to the head.

Thank you - loaded as a separate object and that fixed it! Appreciated!
