DS 4.22 manual install time?

I have downloaded the latest Daz Studio install files as they never install properly via the DIM.

The install always did take its own sweet time but it has been hours and it is still installing.

After how many hours should one stop the install process and try again?

Is it waiting for a UAC prompt or a security program prompt?

Basicly

downloaded exe file

Clicked the exe

Selected the C drive for the application

Selected the F drive for content

As I have done before

And then its been like this for hours:

See if the firewall is blocking it.

Okay its listed on my firewall as unrecognised.

Changed firewall

Still stuck on install

aborted install

Restarted

some kind of postgres Error:

Some security program is blocking the file from being extracted.

No firewall is off.

Still postgres error

If the file isn't being exracted, it's not the firewall, it must be UAC or antivirus/antimalware

Okay all security, virus checker & firewall are all off.

No change, still getting error.

It's trying to install to the F drive -- can you set the content locations outside of Program Files?

Thats where the previous version is.

Program on C drive

Content on F drive

This is due to C drivew not having enough space

The error message shows the file couldn't be extracted to F:\Program Files\... -- is that where you have content installled?

Yes

I think the issue must be with the main application which makes no sense whatsoever as that is where the previous versions are installed.

I will try another install location.

Right back where I started, installing again.

Did some investigating and apparently this issue has been popping up since v4.9 at least 8 years ago.

My current DS setup is mangled so Its looking like I'm going to have to clean house & start from scratch.
