You could have a look at this first, but if it is a bit too advanced, please start a new thread in the New Users Forum

    Hello,

I work on the Mac platform with the following features: Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB Memory. I am a beginner and I use DazStudio with 4.8 rendering Iray engine . I tried for two weeks to get a rendering that is not grainy. I try several lighting, surface and rendering setups but i always get the same result. The scene, he is only a character and nothing else. Where can I find good information to solve this problem?
Thank you (sorry for my English)

I am not an expert myself but I would say your Mac is underpowered for Iray rendering.  I used to use a 3.4 Ghz Intel i5 with 16GB of memory and I often had to render for up to 15 hours to get the image quality I wanted. I suspect your renders are grainy because you need to render for far longer.  Try increasing the max time (secs) parameter on the render settings tab to 27000 or more and then be prepared for a long wait. You can also try rendering at a lower resolution.

If you can afford the cost, go for a computer with a more powerful processor and 16GB of memory.  An Nvidia graphics card with 4GB of memory would also speed up your renders.

Sorry I can not be more positive.  Incidentally, your English is fine.

    Cheers,

    Alex.
