Primitive partly disappears upon rendering.

When I use a primitive - a plane, or a cube - as a floor to show cast shadows, upon rendering, part of that primitive seems to randomly disappear; but only part. I have a couple of distant lights in the scene and a custom camera, but nothing complicated. Any ideas? Screen grabs attached to illustrate problem. Second image is cube. Third is plane. Interesting that the "disappearance" appears to be consistent with both primitives. Is it something to do with my lighting?

The bottom of your primitves are below the ground plane, is that what you mean? Otr, are you referring to the size of the Plane?
There is no 'Ground' plane in DAZ Studio like ther is in Poser, when you create the plane, you have to make it big enough to cover your scene during the creaation process, or by scaling it in the Parameters pane.
Hi KG
If you are using the camera in screencapture it looks like it may be the camera cutting off the ground plane on render. Try raising the camera up a little bit on the Y-Trans and the rotating it back down to look at your figures and see if that helps. You can also try lowering the "Focal Length" setting by selecting the camera in the scene and then in the Parameters Tab clicking on "Camera" the "Focal Length" will be a dial on the right. The lower the focal length the greater the distance between your camera and the subject, the higher the focal length the closer the camera. Higher Focal length is great for closeup renders as it gets rid of the "Fish Lens" effect but a lower setting would be what you are looking for for the scene you have set up here.
Hope this helps!
