Genesis 9 Eyes Bugged Out [SOLVED]

Have been using Genesis 9 models for a few months now. No major problems really. 2 days ago BLAM! Eyes have bugged out.

Set up a pose, Go to look sise to side, notice the eyes are moving inside the socket and morphing the shape of the eyelids and outer eyebrows. Spend two days online looking for a solution, No luck.

Check for morphs (hidden included) - none.

Check expressions - none being used.

Check different genesis 9 characters - All are infected including the base model.

Using ver. 4.22 pro currently, tried ver 4.15 which I saved due to the Ghost light issues - same problem.

Find a semi-solution by dialing the twist to 180 or -180 on each eyeball. Eyes now go side to side but still deform the surrounding area.

At a dead end now really, creativity drops to a minimum when you're spending all your time looking for a solution.

Anyone run into this and can point me in the righ direction?

  • There is a joint correction applying when it shouldn't, most likely - there was a product that caused this but I think it was updated, so check DIM (working online) or Connect 9depending on download/install method) for updates.

  • No new updates through DIM showing.

Another detail that I forgot to add - the model was parented to a vehicle to remain in the sitting position as the vehicle was moved . No idea if that might have caused a problem?

Is there a manual way to check if there's a joint correction messing with the eyes?

  • Can you recall which characters you have installed since the eyes were working? If so the obvious firsts tep would be to uninstall those and see if the issue goes away.

  • I did try that. I also uninstalled other assets just in case. No change unfortunately.

Usually googling a problem leads me to a solution. Most questions about this issue seem to be related to when morphs are applied, or when someone is exporting to Blender etc.

Frustrating being stuck. Appreciate the brainstorming tho.

Have you checked : Show Hiddent Prperties... first, select Curently Used in Parameters pane... are there any unexpected properties dialed (having values) ?

And check the sub-node of Eyes as well...

using the above information. Check and see if any new characters from other brokerages that you have installed have corrective morphs that are activating.
They may not have been properly clamped to prevent this from happening.  I've had this happen to me.

This ended up leading me to the cause. The culprit ended up being CGI Charles 9 from renderosity. Obviously it wasn't showing in the DIM installed files. And it's been about a month since I installed him, so naturally I was focused on more recent installs and overlooked him. Damn, what a nightmare that was.

Thank you everybody for pitching in, and thank you Lyoness! Appreciate the help!

    Happy New Year everybody!

  • Mine did exactly this to start, then it got worse by disabling a ton of sliders.  I'm glad you found the direct cause.  Don't forget to clear your cache too.  Crosswind and Richard solved this for me, and that was the advisory I got once I removed stuff per Richard's advice.  Removing stuff temporarily stopped it, and it came back in another session.  Hitting F2 and clearing the DSON cache files in a new session gets rid of any bad data that stuck around after the removal.  That was over a month ago, and I haven't seen this happen to me since.
