I am wondering if there is a way to retarget a Mixamo animation onto a Genesis 8 figure in DAZ Studio? I would love to use Mixamo animations in DAZ Studio without having the floating feet/sliding feet effect.

those animations work best on m4 and v4 so any method free or paid that converts from them will give you the best results
Bone Minion by Riversoft has worked well for me for genesis 9
I don't own the others but imagine would also work well
I do it for free this way
for earlier figures I used the saved m4 pose on genesis 1, saving and applying the pose to genesis 3 then using pose controls to fix the legs and arms for genesis 8
don't use genesis 2 to go to 3 or 8 with this method
moving the root bone to the hip position with the joint editor is needed to prevent sliding
What program or script would be useful for moving the root bone to the hip position efficiently without doing it manually?
well it's not hard, just use the bone editor tool and move the little red and green gizmos
there are other paid ways like 3DUniverse https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-animation-tools--set-1 I don't own but Dartanbeck uses
and other converters too
I have had no luck with Genesis 9 though manually hence bone Minion, again there are other converters off site that do that too
Genesis 8 is basically genesis 3 with the arms down 60 degrees and legs out 6 degrees so can use each others poses (as well as genesis 1 poses NOT ANIBLOCKS)
I love animating in Daz Studio!!!
