BRAND NEW!

Hi all.. New to Daz.. hope to get some help and tips from you along the way.

I bought some items on Renderosity, and was hoping someone could help me load them into Daz 4.8..  I unzipped them, but can't seem to find how to Import them.  I tried Import from the File menu, but there's a few folders from each Zip file.

To install a zip file from another store:

    • Take the zip and extract it to a temp folder.
    • Look in the extracted folders and find the one which contains a "Runtime" folder. Take whatever is in that folder (Runtime, data, People, and so on) and put them into your content directory, merging them with the folders you already have there

Once  you've done that you should be able to find the files in the "Content Library" tab in DS. They usually won't appear in Smart Content.

I like to manually install my items. In doing so, prepare to run into errors because you might forget to place a file or put it in the wrong folder or the folder might be named incorrectly, etc. Dont worry about it if that happens, just retrace your steps and youll be fine. Eventually, youll be able to figure out which folders you can customize and which folders you cant. I dont recommend using Smart Content, use the Content Library as Leana suggested.

If you run OS X, can I recommend my little tool "RendoInstall"?

You find the latest version here: http://4eyes.code66.se/?p=7775

I think this will solve all your zip-installing problems.
