Don't like the Scene Pane auto-resize for new items and auto-scroll on click

Can this feature be turned off? When I add a new item to the scene, the Scene Pane automatically resizes the "Node" column to fit the length of the new item's name if it's longer than the current width of the column. THEN, the Scene Pane automatically scrolls horizontally to the right, so I can no longer see the important "V" and "S" columns.

What makes it even worse, is that any node I click in the Scene Pane also scrolls to the right--no matter what. If I resize the Node column, it just expands with the next new item added.

This is a terrible feature and makes for an awful user experience, so I hope there's a way to disable it. Users should be able to set the scene pane to any width and retain their setting of where the horizontal scroll is positioned.

I'm running 4.22.0.15, not the Beta.
