How hard does starting a new scene have to be?

Maybe I missed something, but why does 4.22 now have this popup of New Scene template options, instead of simply clearing the scene as before?  Are we going to get templated scenes like MS Word has Brochure, Résumé, Cover Letter, and like templates?

And how can I turn the extraneous menu-step off?  I liked it as it was.

Yeah, that's one of my biggest complaint about the latest update. I liked the way it was before, but now i have to do this additional steps. I hope there's a way to bypass it
