Question about Render detail
I know I am working with a lesser system for Daz (i3Core/4GB RAM) and will be upgrading soon so my renders don't take so long. But something I've noticed on my last few renders is that the detail i was hoping for just isn't there. i.e. Black Lipsitck/Fingernail polish shows up as sort of a dull gray, one of my models has what looks like a split lower lip and I have what i think I've heard refered to as "Fire Flys" here and there. I use IRay to render. Will my pictures be improved computer capabilites or is this more a result of improper technique? Or both?

At a quick glance, image looks fine to me, just need more background lighting. As for lips, fingernails, etc..... can be adjusted in surface tab, or try a different texture mat. .
Nothing to do with your PC just technique as in setting up the materials yourself. Did you just let DS do an auto convert to Iray? If that is the case convert manually using the Iray Uber Surface preset and adjust to suit the render engine. Yes it does take time to learn but once you understand what you are doing things should become a little easier.
DS doing an auto convert to IRay...I guess? I didn't make any changes ever and when I render the window that appears and says "Iray: Render Target canvas written" and that's the only reason I know its in Iray lol.
How would I convert manually to Iray Uber Surface? (if that isn't too long if an answer)
In the Shader Presets folder under Daz Studio > My DAZ3D Libraray > Iray in the Content Library Pane (not Smart Content Pane) is where you can find the Iray Uber Shader.
Select all the items in the scene and go to the Surfaces Pane and select them all. To do that click on the first and hold down Shift and select the last one. With them all selected double click the Iray Uber Shader. Once complete all the surfaces will have the Iray shader ready for tweaking. Here is a basic overview of the Iray shader http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/interface/panes/surfaces/shaders/iray_uber_shader/shader_general_concepts/start#base_mixing the main shader I use is the PBR Metallicity/Roughness which is the default when converted and IMHO the easiest to use.
