Missing files upon starting program?
I'm very new to Daz Studio so I'm not confident about looking through files and all of that - not that I could know where to look. When I try and use a figure, it says that there are missing files, and the figure just comes out at squares. I know others have been having this problem, but I wasn't able to follow the instructions properly. I have version 4.8 and my DIM says that I have everything installed, including the Genesis Starter Essentials. I feel as if my program and my files may not be in the same location? Please help!

I suspect the content is not installed correctly - right-click on the Basic Female icon in Smart Content and from the menu choose Show in Content Library - what is the full path to that file? If you can't get all of it in a single screenshot, try right-clicking on the icon in the Content Library and selecting Browse to File Location to open an OS window showing the file.
I checked that and this is what came up:
Please keep in mind that I'm very bad at technology so any instructions you give me will have to be very clear. Thank you for lending me your time!
Your content should not be in the application folder - that is almost certainly the cause of the issue as Winbdows protects that location. However, it looks as if the files aren't being found at all (which is odd as you have icons in Samrt content). You need to place your content in a location in your Documents or Public Documents folder, or another location to which you have acess - the defaults are Public Documents\My DAZ 3D Libraries and Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library, both of which should be selected under DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats (you can right-click on the headings to add folders). The Runtime and Data folders, and others at the same level, should be in the content directories themselves not in sub-folders.
All I could do from that is make both of those file locations selected under the DAZ Studio Format. Should I do it for the poser formats, too? Sorry I'm really not good at this kind of stuff I usually need specific instructions or else I get confused
Yes, you want the two location under Poser Formats since some older content iss till in that form.
I tried to make the poser and DAZ studio formats to be the same, but for poser it has a pop up about runtime? And what should I do about the runtime and data folders? You mentioned them before but I didn't understand.
The Runtime and Data folders should be sub-folders of the folders you seelct as content diectories, not nested inside other folders.
