Genesis 9 F. Pose is deforming hands

AngellsAngells Posts: 113

Hands deform after applying pose on my character morph even after rigging to shape. Figure Shape morph for Genesis 9 F. Never had this happen for G8 figures don't know what I am missing in G9. The poses are  Daz Girly Poses and the Default ones for G9 and Lady Like Poses. Only the hands or one hand deforms. It is also deforming hands when using the default Genesis 9, for the Girly Poses and the Lady Like Poses and Genesis 9 default poses.

  • Is it just those poses or any poses that affect the fingers? It looks as if there is either s hape applied that is not adjusting the rigging to match, or there is a rigging adjustment kicking in when the shape it belongs to is not applied. Does Edit>Figure>Zero>Zero Figure Shape remove the issue?

With Show Hidden Property, check Currently Used in Paramenters pane as below, try to find out the culprit...

Did show hidden properties, nothing there , but I did uninstall G9 starter essentials and reinstalled now the default Genesis poses do work but any other charater morphs even daz characters I bought . still deform the hands. I am really frustrated here . I hope I can get some help. I recently update DS and that is when this started happening.

No worry...normally such an issue is not related to DS software update. The only culprit could be morph and/or rigging issue. I bet there must be a morph or sth. like that...

A quick way to identify the culprit may be that you attach your scene file (*.duf file) down below.

won't let me upload the scene file. no file chosen. Do I need to zip the file?

I tried to attach the file but it says no file chosen.

NP ~ I saw the file attached. When opening the scene file, it popped up that some morph files are missing as I don't have them for sure. It seems one morph (Renee G9) was created by you, another one (Emma) seems not from Daz3D store, a 3rd party product or something?

So at least one of them is the culprit.... because after loading the scene, I dialed the same pose as above, there's no problem. Pls check, and try to remove the morph file from the data folder, one by one.

I did, I deleted my new character morphs, and then I created a new one. Everything was fine, pose worked but after I restarted the character and added the morphs same thing happened. Maybe I should just uninstall ds and see if that will work.

That has nothing to do with DS itself, that's the issue comes from the morph you made. With that morph dialed, Adjust Rigging to Shape, ERC Freeze then resave as morph asset.

Thank you it worked I did that with my morph character, and now the issue is not there. I was working on a freebie for xmas give away. Thanks for your help.

Great! You're welcome ~ Happy rendering ! yes

  • I'm having the same  issue. however I did adjust rigging to shape, ERC Freeze, then bent the fingers. same problem. deforms like crazy. nothing else does

  • nevermind. I must have done it wrong the first time then tried to fix the saved morph after the fact. I had to delete the custom morph. reload it fresh with morph loader. do it in the correct order. THEN save it. works great now.
