Why Does Teen Kimmy Render With Black Underneath and In Her Eyes?

This has happened on a few characters recently and I can't figure out why. I thought it might be the hair, so I applied different hair, but got the same results. She looks like she's a linebacker on a football team!

What could be causing the lines under her eyes when I render (with IRAY). Also, there's black in her eyes as well. I've tried different combos of lights and no special lighting at all. I rendered her several times in this scene earlier today and it wasn't happening. All I did was change the pose and perspective, and boom....she's got black eyes.

I know the lighting is terrible in these examples, not to mention the hair. But I am just trying to solve the black eye mystery at this point. I'm a Noob.

Might be the known bug related to Iray and certain kinds of transparency maps. As a test, if it isn't already, position your character (and camera), at 0,0,0 coordinates (i.e., world center). Try a new render. If that fixes it, the best thing you can do is rework your scene around rendering at this location -- IOW, move the scene as needed, rather than the character.

  • Tobor, you're a genius....that solves it. I am glad to hear it's a known bug. Changing coordinates totally worked.

    Thank you!!
