Outfit Fitting

When an outfit is fitted on a model, say G8F, are the corresponding bones in both the G8F and outfit "linked" together one-to-one, to make the outfit move with the G8F?  What is the mechanism that allows the outfit to follow the G8F pose?

Many thanks!

If you look in clothing, it will have similar bone hierachy as the character, and it is the weightmapping of the bones in the clothing that determins how the clothing follows the character.

And you may create custom bones and rig them on wearables as well.

  • Thank-you @crosswind, I would try that in a heartbeat, but weightmapping is giving me pause.

Understood. Indeed ~ weightmapping / painting weight need some techniques... and setting custom bone(s) is mostly subject to the design of the outfit you're making.  Just take it easy ~~ smiley
