DazCentral suddenly won't load

Is there suddenly a problem with DazCentral? Tried to load this morning and all I get is "LOADING," the circular loading motif, and the screen does a little wobble every 3-4 seconds. No matter how long I leave it nothing more happens.
This is on my desktop and I wondered if it had been corrupted there somehow, so I tried it on my laptop and exactly the same thing happens. So it looks as if it is something 'their' end and not my end.
Does anyone know anything about this? It's a bit concerning as I must have goodness knows how many thousands of pounds of assets by now.... :(

I believe that Daz Central is now discontinued in favour of using DIM. There have been a few posts in the forums about it.
See this link for more info - seems it was due to shut down on the 15th November.
You should be able to fire up DIM (Daz Install Manager) and get access to all the products you have purchased so they will not be lost at all.
Yeh, its a bummer as it was a great way to see your assets and guide to access them in Daz
WHAT????? NOOOOOOOOO!
I use it evey single day.....I haven't seen anything about it being discontinued. I sincerely hope not - nothing else can provide such an easy pictorial view of all one's assets, as far as I can see.
Well, I don't think there was an "official" annoucement as such - the link I edited into my previous post would be the closest to an announcement that I know about. But it was quietly swapped out for DIM on the site and DIM has had a few improvements lately.
I wasn't a user of Central myself so would not know what features you are now losing - there is the product view under your account: daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files - I assume that is not the same visual list of your products that DazCentral gave you?
Okay. I hadn't noticed that link before - thanks for that. I certainly haven't seen anything about it before.
It's all extremely disappointing. The product view doesn't begin to compare in terms of usefulness. It's just a list of names of the products one owns. One has to click each one, one by one, to remind oneself what the asset looks like. With DazCentral one could very rapidly scroll down all the pictures of one's assets and pick out what might be suitable for a given situation, or even to simply remind oneself of all the assets one has bought. When one has literally thousands of assets it's a massive timesaver. A picture paints a thousand words, as they say.
It is incomprensible to me that this useful feature has been removed. It's definitely going to crimp my style, and will certainly put me off regularly buying so many assets on a whim - it's hard enough keeping track of what I've got as it is. This will make it absolutely impossible. Absolutely p****d off I must say. :(
Ahh, it sounds like perhaps I should have also been using DazCentral after all as I definitely understand your pain with locating the right asset at the right time. My current go-to is using images.google.com and typing the thing I am looking for preceeded with "daz3d" and clicking on the ones that look suitable until I find something that I already own. Not ideal either.
The product view should show you the product thumbnails on the right hand side and if you search for a product name the thumbnail view should also update to show the relevant products. Perhaps not as large as they were on DazCentral but perhaps still would enable you to get the gist of what they are? Also, by default it does list them in purchase order, sorted by newest and so you can page through them to remind yourself of what you have bought.
Depends on the Browser, Daz Deals version and maybe even on being a subscriber or not.
Apparently there was a message inside DazCentral too.
Ooops! I sometimes forget all the benefits and enhancements that DazDeals provides and so didn't realise that having the thumbnails there isn't the default/plain experience :(
That makes sense and also explains why I didn't see it.
That was my understanding.
Yes, the thumbnails are something but, as you say, much smaller, and anything which is uninstalled is in black & white! Small black & white images are not much help when you're trying to find that spectacular dress you bought quite a while back on spec and which now would be just the ticket!
Ho hum....life goes on. I'll just have to get used to everything taking a lot longer following this severely retrograde development. Even Daz Studio, which I LOVE, doesn't always change things for the better it seems....
Moved to Technical Help as it is not a Daz Studio topic.
