Is there way To Tell Polygon count of Hair Before you Decide on it for Decimation?

I hate that many hairs are 1milion or 500,000 polygons and i decimate my hairs or at least i want to know so i can decimate in blender. Cause blender struggles too if they are 2 million polygons or something. Is there a way in Daz to tell if a Hair will be huge?

The only way i know how to test is running it through Decimator, if it takes really long when i press "Prepare to Decimate". that means it will be really large polygon amounts, like from 400,000 to 500,000 and more. In that case I can look for a lower poly one in my collections.

But I don't know if there's a tool in Daz to tell you the polycount. Because Actually using decimator just to find the Polycount is not a good idea, sometimes just doing that Crashes your computer.

If anyone knows, thanks

  • You can use the 'Scene Info' tab. You find it the Windows menu in DS. It will tell you the total polygons in the whole scene and whatever you have selected.

  • Thanks a lot. that's userful

  • You an also use the Node tab (page) in the group of tabs at the bottom of th Scene pane - which has the advantage of being non-modal, so you can change the selection and see the update values without having to dismiss and reopen the dialogue box.
