DAZ Connect - Don't Want it!

I had an error come up that some files were missing so I made the mistake of allowing DAZ Studio to install them. I now realise that it enables DAZ Connect to do this - something I have deliberately avoided since it was introduced. Now I can't get rid of that damn folder in my Content Tree. I've deleted all the files it installed to my disk but there is no option to remove DAZ Connect from my product list. I do NOT use Smart Content either. I wish DAZ would stop making decisions for me - I don't want this useless rubbish.

Ah yea, that used to be annoying me as well. Since the link of Connect could not be 'removed', let's just play a trick in there -:

Never use Connect first. Then, press F2 - Content tab - Content Directory Manager. Set the path of Connect Data as the same as one of your Libs. Then that 'damn folder' will be gone.

Nah - that damn folder is still there after doing as you suggest. See my screenshot.

Alright now - it has gone ... I had to reset the database and re-import the metadata.

I did that long time ago but it should work. I will db checkblush

Hope you don't lose any metadata.

My Content looks ok. I don't use Smart Content and I gather that the database is more important for that so perhaps I'll be ok. At least that annoying DAZ Connect library has now gone.

If one doesn't use Daz Connect, one should not log in to Daz Studio and one should also make sure DS is not set to automatically log one in.

Daz didn't make a decision for you - you had to choose to install that way, and you had to enter your log-in credentials. As you found, the fix is to make sure the CMS formgets about Connect by resetting the database.

OK - in response to these last two comments I refer back to my OP. There was an error come up that certain files were missing. The error came with a solution to download and install the missing files so I followed that advice. Perhaps I should have realised that by entering my login details to facilitate that solution I was actually also committing to using DAZ Connect but thatt thought didn't occur to me - I just wanted to replace the missing files.
