The Vigilante

Hi all,

I'm anxious about this but it's time I opened myself up to some honest assesment. Allow me to introduce The Vigilante. http://www.artyficialhorizon.com/vidspage01.php

I would be interested in your comments as this is my first venture with Iray as well as being my first exposure of what I hope to be an exciting episodal series about the downfall of organised crime in the fictional Albion City.

Just teasers, trailers and test pieces for now.

Enjoy! (I hope).

Hi Saphirewild, thank you so much for taking the time to both look at the work and comment on it.While this thread has had 30 views at time of writting, you're the only one so far who has done so and as a plus, you are very positive and that alone encourages me to continue so thank you again.

I must admit that the community here would be more responsive providing encouragement or food for thought but perhaps it is early days.

I had a look at your stuff and I like it very much. I don't know about you but this medium has given me a way (not being artistically gifted myself) to get a story out of my head and into a cohesive form. Your material is funny and speaks of the human condition, so keep it up and I'll be sure to let you know when The Vigilante rides again!

I found myself sitting with a big smile as I watched, which may not be the reaction you're after but it is a sign that I enjoyed it. This is the kind of stuff I hope to be able to do some day but I haven't even started trying the animation possibilities that DAZ features. In the meantime, it's always fun to see what others do. So I agree with Saphirewild, please keep them coming! It will be interesting to see finished episodes with a story to follow and pay attention to.

As for thread views vs comments I wouldn't worry too much about that. Being an experienced forum dweller (not only here on DAZ) I'd say 1 reply for every 20-30 views is pretty avarage. Also, having the main content you want to show in just a clickable link will make many just look at the post and move on. Some pictures might help catch attention.

Keep up the good work and most importantly, have fun while doing it!

You are a genius isidorn, why didn't I think of that? Some stills included here on your advice! Thank you for the comments, a smile is worth a thousand comments believe me. Daz and the animation potential it has is something that you just have to plug away at. The Vigilante is the result of about 18 months of fairly constant experiment and forum dwelling before I began to develop it but if I can be of any help, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Thanks again,

    G

Haha I wouldn't call myself a genius, but if you say so I won't disagree.laugh

I found DAZ just a few months ago and is still learning the basics so I'm putting animation on hold until I'm more comfortable and actually know what I'm doing. Learn to walk before I run, so to speak.

Good stuff, I haven't tried animating in DS, as I don't think I'd have the patience. Just one point, when doing a "street scene", it might be a good idea to have something else moving in the background, like a couple of people walking or a vehicle moving, just to make the world feel populated. Provided its not too big an ask for your computer set-up.

    So, yeah, keep going!

Thank you for that Steve, I will take that on board as it is a detail that will make a big difference.

    Thanks again,
