Is there a good way to create stars outside a spaceship window? Maybe a good product? Needs to render with Iray. Or is this best done with some post process in after effects?
Is a background image different than a dome? I have the blue plane and some "star domes" but they just block out in Iray and are black when rendered in Iray.
Thanks. That was a big help. I created a plane primitive. Attached the star dome.jpg image to it. And then I added that texture to the Emissive color chanell. So with that plane as an Iray Emmisive shade, the stars pop out of teh black background.

If it is just outside the window, you could just use a background image. It wouldn't have to be an HDR as if you were lighting the scene with it...

You can put any picture in the diffuse color channel of a plane primitive and use that outside of the window.
