Where are the ambient occlusion and raytracing options?

I'm trying to turn off ambient occlusion and raytracing on the hair in my scene because I've read that it can render faster. I'm using the Iray rendering engine. I select the hair, go to the Surfaces tab, select the surfaces in the Editor tab, and apply the !Iray Uber Base shader in the Presets tab. I go back to the Editor tab, but there appear to be no options for ambient occlusion or raytracing. What am I doing wrong?

Those are not properties used in the Iray shaders from Daz.
Thanks Richard.
What are these people talking about then?

At a quick glance I think those would eb working in 3delight, which does hae a lot more flexibility (shaders permittings) since it isn't a dedicated physically based render engine.
Okay, so the UberSurface shader they're referring to is completely different from the Uber Base shader, and only works with 3Delight, and there is no way to make hair ignore ambient occlusion or raytracing using the Iray rendering engine.
Yes, UberSurface is the old 3Delight shader used for quite a lot of materials.
