Well this product released recently could be useful: https://www.daz3d.com/aging-face-details-hd-for-genesis-9
There's also this: https://www.daz3d.com/the-age-for-genesis-9
There's alwo today's Golden Ticket item:

I would be interested in seeing how that product works on realistic characters since it is made for and aimed at toon styled ones.
Short answer, from initial quick test: I'm not unhappy for three bucks. I'll try to get some examples done this evening.
Morphs for shaping and appearance + 'aging textures' + posing... to prove he/she is that old. Some aging shapes look just like 'expressions', some seems for 'toon style'... I'm also interested in seeing the results from Time Machine.
I did this series of renders to illustrate 3DUniverse's new Time Machine utility, used on a stock G9 character (Van Helsing 9 HD). I did a series of full body images at various ages, and then a series of 3/4 head images.
First, the interface is simple enough. There are one-click options if you you prefer, or the dialable "3DU Time Machine Age" which you can pick anything from 1 to 80.
In order for it to work, it would appear that you have to Enable Male or Female, which is a script or an on/off button. It's worth noting - and I've included comparisons to show the effect - that it makes changes to the figure on enabling. Since the default age is 25, it would seem as though you're best off starting with a young adult figure, which is partly why I picked this one.
My immediate impressions from this quick test are that it might have reasonable usage for the "realistic" crowd if you stick to young adult to middle- to late adulthood. Most noticeably, the kid-aged faces are not what I could use as a "realistic" child. I don't know yet if other characters with somewhat less pronounced facial features would work better.
I used the stock mat files for the original young adult Van Helsing for all versions, which probably doesn't do the elder versions any favors. To be fair, more age-appropriate textures would surely help. Also, I did no other morphs or twiddling with lighting, the latter of which becomes noticeable with the shorter child/elderly images.
I can retest if there's something else, or something better, I should have tried.
Here's an assortment of full body images, ages 1,5,10,15,25,55,65 (Apologies for the size on some of these ... I'll modify/redo if needed.)
Faces, ages 1,5,10,15,20
Faces, ages 25,45,55,65,80
Here's the comparison of the stock Van Helsing (on left) with the figure after enabling. The changes to the body are more noticeable. It does something comparable when enabling on a male character - it masculinizes it a bit.
There is something I find really irritating about the 3DU Time Machine. It automatically adds 100% Base Feminine or 100% Base Masculine to your character when you enable the 3DU Time Machine. When you use it on a character that does not already include that morph (like any of the Daz Original characters like Victoria 9, Michael 9, etc.) It totally distorts the character shape. Going in and dialing Base Feminine or Base Masculine back out every time is annoying. This product really seems designed to only be used on Genesis 9 Base, although that isn't what the product page says.
Victoria 9 default shape on the left.
Victoria 9 with "3DU Time Machine Enable Female" set to On on the right. Note how Victoria's shape is distorted by the addition of the Base Feminine morph added at 100% by the Time Machine. Victoria 9 does not need the Base Feminine shape dialed in. Her morph already has all the characteristics of a female shape.
@paulawp @barbult Thanks for the test and information! In this case, there have to be further tweaking and fixing. I'll pass over this machine for the time being though it's pretty cheap now...
I've done some more tinkering this morning with the 3DU Time Machine on a custom male G9 character. Those who know me know that I spend a lot of my Daz time on my custom characters, but I opted to run yesterday's test on a recognizeable Daz store-bought character as I was figuring that would be more relevant to a general audience. Thanks, Barbult, for pointing out that the change on enabling is from setting the Base Masculine/Feminine; that's easy to dial down if not needed.
All in all, I continue to be fairly happy with this product for my purposes. I'm working on a story series that covers about 15 years of "present day" time, with a fair number of earlier events discussed in a parallel storyline. It's true that further tweaks (and texture updates) may/will be necessary but I think I can use this.
I made a couple more interesting comparison images.
G9B Time Machine age 5 Female (left) vs. Growing Up age 5-6 (right)
G9B Time Machine age 1 Female (l;eft) vs. G8 Female Mechasar Caryna (right) Caryna is a morph for Caryn that comes in the Mechasar Mega Add-ons Pack 1.
...shape and proportion of the ones on the left seem not my preferences.
My impression is that the Time Machine is more stylized (cartoonish) than realistic. It is a 3D Universe product. 3D Universe is the king of toons in the Daz store, so we should not be surprised, I suppose.
The Time Machine product page says "The character's height, physique, facial features, hair color, and even posture are dynamically altered to mirror natural aging processes.". What hair are they talking about? I haven't seen any hair color changes to head hair products or eyebrows.
