Environment Options and location, time etc.

Hi, I believe the location set in the Environment Options is Salt Lake City, being the home of Daz. There are multiple options in the settings to change these. longitude, latitude, time, date and time off set for example. There are also many other options. I can't find anything in the user guide to assist with these values and what they all mean.

I did an internet search and found this. http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/interface/panes/render_settings/engine/nvidia_iray/environment/start it answers most of my questions. One question not resulved in the above link. Is the time off set GMT or some other Universal Time setting. One remains. Is it posible to default the location using setting in the actual PC being used.

    Pretty straight forward.

Google the latitude and longitude for the place you want to set your scene in.

Set the time and date for when you want your scene to be set in.

Off set the time is the daylight saving amount for the place you have set your scene in if that is applicable.

Or you could use this https://www.daz3d.com/iray-geolocator

Thank you Fishtale. You answered the question about the time off set very well, thank you. Only remaining question from above, can I use the PC time/location information. I have added https://www.latlong.net/ to my book marks. Although I am not sure what "Default" and "Value" mean. If I put the latitude and longitude in the "default" I get what I think is the correct light. If I aslo put them in the "value" I get a black screen for any time of the day when it should be light.

I don't know where you are getting the default and value from. Just put the corresponding numbers for Latitude and Longitude into the boxes in the environment tab and set the date and time of day. Make sure you are in Dome and Scene, Dome Only (both without a HDRI) or Sun and Sky Only.
