can the content library be made to resolve shortcuts?

It's not possible to put my 200 g of old saved render files etc on my content directory drive but putting a shortcut to that folder in the content drive doesn't work as the CMS apparently ignores short cuts?

    Why not just add another Library? Studio will search all mapped directories.

    My thought train went askew when I discovered there was no way to add the 250 g render file save folder onto the m2 drive ... because not enough space so was going with short cut but then adding a directory is actually a shortcut ... and duh I have over a hundred mapped directories.
