Ive watched a few videos and I can get the models in naked but I see Models in mixamo with clothing. surely there must be a way to import into mixamo with clothing because I see models in mixamo with clothes.

Which model? I believe Genesis and G2 can go straight into Mixamo just by exporting as FBX, but G3-G9 are a bit trickier. I have yet to find a method that works consistently (short of exporting as OBJ and re-rigging in Mixamo), but I have been able to get a G8 into Mixamo a few times. It may be necessary to check "merge followers into figure" in the FBX export dialogue to get it working.
Genesis 8 Male. I tried "merge followers into figure" that didn't work.
I'm not sure why I didn't try this earlier but OBJ imported all the clothes and looks good except its missing the textures. I tried collecting the materials and it made a mtl file but isnt bringing them in. At least I can get the model in now I just have to hunt around on how to get the textures.
I am really missing the point of why to be honest
most people use Mixamo to either rig unrigged meshes or to export FBX motions so why one would want to destroy the complex DAZ rigging to use the very simple Mixamo rigging with its hit or miss weightmapping is a puzzle.
you are better off retargeting Mixamo exported motions to the DAZ skeleton in other applications like Unreal Engine, Blender, iClone etc Motionbuilder if you can afford it
"Merge followers into figure" is a necessary step, but insufficient to get a G8 into Mixamo. I've done a lot of experiments with it, and even the few times I've succeeded in getting a G8 figure into Mixamo, it only works once; if I tried importing that same figure into Mixamo, it would fail.
