When working on weight map, how far do you bend each of the figure joints?

It seems that it would be impossible to make sure the cloth look alright for every joints max angle.

  • Yes, which is why people add JCMs - but you should certainly be watching how the clothing ebnds across its intended range of movement, not just working on a single angle.

    First, tweaking weight maps cannot fix everything, esp. for the case in which there're multiple maps on parent / children bones, then it turns out to be cumbersome and you may not get good result... My personal recommendation -: go for fixing morphs directly. You'll get optimal result in most of the cases.

    Second, for getting good result with 'max angles', that depends...for instance, with Left Upper Arm -40, you even cannot see the cloth in the armpit, so you don't have to fix 'body_cbs_upperarm_z40n_l'  (most of the PAs don't fix it either...), etc...
