dForce clothes: which settings are suitable for different types of fabric?

Hi...

I've created a bathrobe and added a dforce modifier. When I started the simulation unfortunately the result looked more as if a wet rag was put onto the figure smiley So I am sure I need to play around with the surface settings like buckling, shear and bend to find a setting which suits to the fabric a bathrobe is made of. I wonder if there may be already a documentation somewhere which settings suit to the different types of fabrics?

  • The trouble is, mesh resolution (and structure) play a role in how the item drapes - that makes it impossible to give absolute values. Geenrally the higher the resolution (the shorter the edges around the polygons) the softer the drape, which can be offset by adjusting settings (and, quite likely, adjusting the simulation settings so that thee ngien can cope, especially for stiffer fabrics). look at physical examples of what you are making - I would tend to think that it would be a little more bend resistant, but inclined to buckle.
