dForce FrostX Fashion geoshell stockings not working with G8.1F

Hello,

I'm speaking about dForce Frost X Fashion for Genesis 8 Female, which is not marked as compatible with G8.1F, so maybe it's the normal behavior. It's also equally possible that I did something wrong blush

In the meantime, G8F is laughing while G8.1F is fuming because wearing the stocking make half of her skin look white surprise

I loaded every 8 and 8.1 characters I own, a couple by PAs (including one with a preset for G8F and one for G8.1F), others by Daz directly (like Victoria 8.1). Each time, I followed the same process:

  • select the character in the Scene tab
  • click on the thumbnail for FXF Geoshell Stockings

The end result was the same: the stockings look fine on every 8 character while every 8.1 character ended with white skin.

As far as I can tell, the rest of the clothes of this product work fine with a G8.1F character.

Is there a way to solve the problem with 8.1 characters ? Did I do something wrong ?

    That is normal and happens because they changed the material zones and their names for the torso and head.

    Same thing happens when one tries to apply for example fullbody fur from a G8 to G8.1

    Torso surface on G8.0 is splitted to Body and Head surfaces on G8.1F, so the geoshell preset cannot directly handle it on 8.1.

    Opt1 - : Select Body surface on the geoshell of G8.1F, apply iRay Uber shader to it. Copy Torso surface on the geosehll of G8.0F, paste it to Body surface on the geoshell of G8.1F. Then turn off the visibility of Head on the shell of G8.1 or set its opacity to zero. (a similar tutorial from Jay - : https://youtu.be/gjT5hr7KipU)
    Opt2 - : Use the script to create a shell on G8.1 (https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/509891/batch-process-g8-geoshell-presets-to-g8-1). Apply the material preset of stocking to it and turn off the Head visibility.

    I'll look at the first option and Jay Versluis' video another day, because using the script and following your instruction did solve the problem laugh
