Reflective floor with Iray

Hello! I have been looking for tutorial to create refletive marble floor with Iray shader, have onyone found good?

For some reason I always fail to have "mirror kind of" reflection and so far did not find any help from internet how to use settings with Iray surface. When I do settings by my self reflection is very strange (smear kind of effect).

    What are your surface settings?

Reflection would depend of various factors.

A quick and easy way that has been working well for me is using the Iray "granite" shader and swaping out the Granite .png image with the Iray marble.png, or whatever image you want to use for your marble surface.

The Granite shader can actually have to much shine, so I usually rollback the ior channel to 1.10.

I used this technique on the floor in the image attached below, only instead of a white marble image I used a greenish grunge image.

    Hope this helps!!

This is GENIUS! How did I never think of this!! I like the reflective Granite for iRay, never occurred to me to switch out the png image to create pretty much what you like!! The floor in your render is amazing!! (As is the rest of the render to be honest, we were talking about floors though....)

I use Top Coat without any base Gloss applied. Top Coat weight would depend on how reflective you want. Change Top Coat layering mode from Reflectivity to Fresnel and use an IOR of about 1.48. Roughness; again depends on how sharp you want the reflections. 0.10 to 0.20 might be a good start. Also the sharpness of reflections will depend on any bump, normal or displacement mapping.
