Camera controls & rotation auto-changing

Hey guys :)

So I have an animation scene where at some point I want to "anchor" the camera's focus point to an object and rotate the camera around it a little. The issue is that as soon as I click the [+] thingy to aim the camera at the object OR use the Point At feature in Properties, the camera's rotation somehow receives massively different values than it had before it. Z Rotation changes to 180 from 0, X Rotation to 175.xx from some small values, etc., even though the really necessary values change is about a dozen degrees on any axes. And the camera rolls like crazy between the "with aiming" and "without aiming" keyframes.

How do I stop it from changing the rotation values so drastically?

  • Could you simply have it aimed, at a null, all along and chnage how that behaves to achieve your desired result?

    Possibly. But having the camera focused on an object would make it simpler.
