Old content can be so much fun and a self challenge.  Enjoyed your renders, especially the dolphins.  Water can be a tough issue for me.

Water was an issue with me as well but I have 3Delight water shaders now so makes it a lot easier for me yeswink

Was trying my hand at IRay night time lighting HDRIs and not sure if I am really happy with this render

Hey Saph - Sorry I've been missing in action for a while.  In addition to the recommendations by Hylas here's some more tips with some additional explanations:

Render Settings, Environment.  You can increase Environment Intensity.  I would recommend upping it to 2.00.  If that's too bright, back it off by 0.25 at a time.  Also, you can increase Environment Map - this makes the HDRI map itself brighter, but has less effect than Env Intensity.

Dome Rotation will change the location of the sun - like spinning an object using Y Rotate.

Additionally, you can still use Distance Lights in Iray.  The difference will be that it will have Lumens and Temperature.  A temperature of 6500 is white light.  Look up light temperature to get your numbers there.  10000 is blue, which will add a little moonlight, which is what your scene needs.  Increase the Luminous Flux (Lumen) by adding zeros until it is as bright as you want.  You can also change the color as you did in 3DL.

Here is a different type of render for me with a different camera angle then what I usually do.

Was following along a tutorial and he was talking about different angles we could use for different scenes and this was the one I chose to do!

I really like this dramatic camera angle.  Great job!

    Thanks @Diomede

I got tons of great stuff during the sales and it is probly going to take me a better part of a year to use them all!!

My Muse has been waiting far too long to emerse herself in renders, so I suspect that she will be popping up real soon for all to see what she gets into next!

Great renders!  I really especially like the desert one, and the Christmas elves one.  They both look like they've captured movement/action very well.

Was working on my dark lighting so rendered these off to show how far I have gotten so far!!

Oooh, I like the dark, moody atmosphere you've got here! Lighting is tricky. It's the thing I struggle most with, especially in night time renders.
