    In an actual render or Iray preview?

    It makes hair look wonderful be careful you can create billions of vertexes that will fail to process, it will not crash your system or anything like that just fail to create the vertexes.

    actual iray render, too few and very thin hairs.

    even a file that renderd okay in the past, now the hair looks bad.

    don't seem to be tessellation!

    I have Soft Curls.

    For me it looks fine. Will add an image when forum allows it.

    What version of Daz Studio do you use?

    Added 2 images, one out-of-box (simulated and changed color) and one with Line-Zero hair shader.

    ver. 4.21.0.5 pro 64bit

    it is bad with hairs that have "PR" & "PS" in the surfaces tab

    I have looked in the forum links. Can't see others having issues.

    You still haven't added an image that might give people ideas.

    But I think I would suggest "buying" (price 0) the beta and try to install that and see if it has the same problem.

    uploading takes very long

    Upload is mainly broken. It seems like it works between 6 PM and 12 AM Daz time (mountain time).
