Is there a way to limit IK?

Sometimes I just want the hand/ arm IK only affect up to shoulder/collar. But often time the whole body nodes, spines, etc. move Especially if collar is already rotated.
Is there a way to limit it?

You should be able to edit the chains and the pins to stop the influence from propagating - though pinning can be broken by a strong enough shift (essentially DS always opts for the irresistable force over the immovable object - they are aware that this isn't always the desired behaviour).
