You should be good. There a new caveat to be aware of though - the new "Editorial License", which I've only seen on Cyberpunk Cars, but there may be more coming. I hope not.

The "Standard License" enables us to use our renders of products as our own art. We just can't do anything that distributes Any Part of the product in any way. Renders don't do that. They just, in essence, take a photo of it.

There are currently seven products so far using the editorial licence (not including ones that were changed briefly and then pulled from the store). Check this thread for a maintained list.

  • Thanks for the information i hope they don't add more Dx but these editorial licenses are the only ones you can use to sell renders it's for personal use only? you cant make a profit from them what so ever seems extreme :O

Agreed. I guess one could write the authors holding the license and ask permission, according to the license. However, it's a real issue with a market like this, where we want to have Massive libraries. Now suddenly we have to track these Editiorial licenesed items some way so we don't get squeezed in the end. Bad move, I say.

So I refuse to own any of those.

  • yeah, i don't think I'm going to buy them but thanks for the help :)

Well, the fine details are a little more complicated than that but yes I would absolutely stay away from those for anything remotely commerical. It was added as an option because some PAs were creating things based upon (or atleast heavily inspired by) IP that they do not own. Therefore, you can probably use them in fanart posted online for free and stuff like that but I would also suggest doing so in a way that would not draw excessive attention (unless they officially welcomed such art) or ire from the actual IP holder.
