Help Smoothing Out Intergenerational Hair

When using Genesis 1 and 3 hair on my Genesis 2 figures, I notice a few jagged edges and strands to varying offenses on some hair models, and "enable smoothing" is not always available. Are there any tips on smoothing out the hair?

When using hair made for older figures, I usually don't autofit them as rigging resulting from automatic conversion is often not ideal, especially for long hair.

Instead, I load the hair without fitting it, then manually position it using translation / rotation / scaling / adjustment morphs, and then parent it to the figure's head.

It's easier to do the basic positioning in default pose, so if my figure was already posed I first use "memorize figure pose", then zero the pose, position the hair, and restore figure pose after hair has been parented.

Thank you for the response. It takes a bit of time and experimentation, and it may never seem quite right to me, but you're right that the result is superior to the auto-conversion.
