Feature Request: Please have the texture shaded viewport respect 'visible in render'

I am going through some old animation scene files where 'visible in render' is keyed on and off so that different character and environment elements are basically coming in and out, which looks just fine when rendered.

But when I'm just looking at it through viewport I feel like I'm constantly fighting with needing to turn elements on and off to know what actually makes it out of the render engine.

Can we PLEASE get an option where texture shaded will render things in the viewport based on the 'visible in render' setting? Nvidia Iray display already does this.

    I thought the whole point of hidden in viewport was to make navigation easier though a bounding box option for hidden stuff (like Carrara has for replicaters) sure would help

  • That would rather defeat the point of the granular visibility.

    I'd be fine with granular visibility if granular visibility could be keyframed.
