Effects of Nominal Luminance on Render quality

Does the Nominal Luminance setting have a negative effect on a render's quality? 

I've been rendering on a new PC with a RTX 3060 (really satisfied to my needs), but whenever these white fireflies appear only Nominal Luminance truly helps, even a little bit. The kind of white fireflies i mention sometimes get worse rendering longer.
