Iray Creates checkered texture on things?
Does any one know why Iray some times makes a checkered pattern on items? I figured it was because some of the textures were really low resolution or old, but I recently used a rock from a brand new scene and it showed up again. It doesn't do this when I use 3delight. Is there a way to get it to stop doing this?

Pixels are caused for one of two reasons. One the settings on texture compression. Read about it here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/916838#Comment_916838 The other is when the texture is older and simply to small to give a good render in Iray.
If you're using displacement, then that could also be a displacement setting, it looks the the checks only appear in the 'indented' areas.
(Iray does displacement in a more hands-on, less automated way than 3Delight does.)
Awesome thanks! I'll give that a try!
