Items not showing up when filtered.

Okay, I've mentioned before about this problem and it was suggested I needed to catagorize the item. Well, how about when there isn't a catagorize option, or you do catagorize it it doesn't show up when the Filter by Context is checked. I have an image of one of the problem items. It's the Olivia Hair G8 product. When I have the fliter box checked for a genesis 8 figure, it doesn't show. but when I don't have it checked, it shows up. What gives? The isn't the only product I'm have this problem with.

Okay, let's try this again. The pic wouldn't load, so here goes nothing.
...I'm waiting...
...I'm waiting...
...Okay, after waiting 5 minutes for this image to load I gave up. Something is wrong here and it's not my internet connection (the first thing tech support usually blames). Meanwhile, while waiting I found another hair product with the same problem. It's the Suzina Hair for G8F.
Yeah - picture uploads is kind of unstable at the moment.
Could be the hir has set a wrong comptability base. What happen if you try to add the hair to a G8F character?
Because there's no Compatibilities value given to this Olivia Hair... You may assign a Genesis 8 - Female to it, by using Content DB Editor. Then you will see this product with 'Filter by Context' checked and a G8.xF selected...
felis, it works fine when I use it. It's just that item, as well as others I've forgotten about, are not being assigned.
crosswind, I'll give it a try (if I figure out how).
Thanks, you two, for the feedback.
Crosswind, how do I find that screen? I have no idea where to look for it.
Smart Content pane - in the upper right corner - hamburger menu - Content DB Maintenance...
Okay, Crosswind, I did it and this is what I got when I clicked on it.
I'm terribly sorry !! I must've been sleepy at that time!
As below: Right click menu - Edit Metadata...
Hey, don't worry. I've been there myself. I'll check on it now. Thanks for the help.
I don't know what happened to my follow up post, but I still have a problem. This is what I got and I don't know what to do.
Shoot, I don't know what's wrong with Daz. Their purchased products don't show up where they supposed to, customers now have to do their own tagging, items disappearing from our lists, the weekly freebies are now bi-weekly, the Daz+ weekly freebie is still not available, and now their site won't attach a file. I've tried several times and nothing. I'll have to come back later and try again.
Will Daz soon be going out of business?
Sometimes, but not usually
Which lists? There have been cases of items dropping off the Product Library, but not common and corrected when it happens.
This has always beed so
Yes it is - this week's is https://www.daz3d.com/heliconia-longiflora--exotic-flowers-and-foliage
Yes, this has been hapening for a few days as the result, presumably, of some update work.
Given the above, that is leaping to conclusions.
Richard, I'm not going to break down your responses like you did, though it was helpful. As of yesterday afternoon the Daz+ freebies were still not posted. I'm in the Central time zone, in Texas, and the Daz bi-weeky and Daz + were usually update every Wednesday morning, usually before 9 a.m. I guess Daz ran late yesterday.
As of the weekly releases, I seem to remember being weekly. It's just the past year they were bi-weekly. Also, your advertising in the past claimed 'Weekly Freebies", which implies you get new ones each week, not every two weeks. Otherwise, you can advertise weekly freebies and change them for a year.
As for the lists, I mentioned all that in the earlier posts. I even include pics, when I was able to upload them. But I'll quickly go over it again.
When I have a gen 8 figure loaded and chosen, I want to pick a hair style. With "Filter by Content" checked, I can see a list of hair styles for my figure. But it turns out not all of them are listed. For instance, if I uncheck Filter by Content, Olivia Hair G8 becomes available. This is not the only item that does that. With help in the past I learnedl, I was able to catergorize some of them so they will show up in the box when the filter is checked. But, I had other items that didn't have the option to categorize. I was up the perverbial smelly creek without any visible means of propulsion.
The current situation now is the Olivia Hair G8. I categorized it and it still doesn't show up when the filter is checked. Using the technique suggested by Crosswind, I got as far as the image I was able to upload this time. I don't know where to go from here.
BTW, I thought the staff at Daz is supposed to do the categorizing when they approve a product for sale. Not the person who's selling it.
As attached...
As Crosswind indicates, for a file to appear in Smart Content it needs to have a type (Material, Shape, Actor etc.), one or more categories, and one or more compatibilities (it's the last which make the Smart part)
Thank you both. That did the trick.
