Is it possible to save a moprh I have created for a figure so it can be applied to any new instance of that figure?

Thanks

  • If it's a weight mapped figure in DS and a cutom sculpted morph, File>Save as>Support Asset>Morph Asset witl save a file that will load with the figure (always). If it'ss ettings for existing morphs, File>Save as>Shaping Preset.

Thanks. Saving as a morph asset worked.

It was a set of morphs created in zbrush and then sent to the figure via GoZ. Is there any way to combine them into just a single morph dial?

  • Zero the figure, set the morphs to 1 (or 100%, depending on the way they display), export as OBJ, and then load that OBJ as a new moprh. You will then need to remove the files for the sub-morphs, if you don't want to keep them - they will be in \Data\Publisher\Generation\Figure\Morphs\Author\Product - so \Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 3\Female\Morphs\Author\Product for G3F, where Author and Product will be the names you entered in the option dialogue.

I have just created a morph for G2F in zbrush, GoZ back to DAZ Studio and File > Save as > Support Asset > Morph Asset but when I close and load a new G2F she doesn't have this morph available. Why?

  • I don't know - was a .dsf file for the morph created in \Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 2\Female\Morphs\Authort\Product, where Author andf product are the names you etered in the options dialogue?

    No. It wasn't.

Does it matter if this is a new instance of Genesis 2 that I am now GoZ-ing to? (I saved the project in zbrush, but I had closed the original G2F that i used to create it. Everything was in zeroed pose with no other alterations though, so it should be ok, right?)

  • Yes, I would think that was OK - in fact I think I have done the same. If the morph worked before saving that shouldn't be the issue, though it may be worth (if you now rebuild it using the saved project) taking a screen-shot of the Parameter settings (gear icon on the slider) for the created morph. Another option would be to load the shape from the project file as a new subtool/layer for a newly GoZed figure and then apply the shape and send the result back to DS, which should deal with any issue that is due to a mismatch.
