Normal render with AMD card

Hello

So I'm a big noob when it come to daz3d, I wanted to learn a bit but my card dies a few days ago.

I wanted to ask is it still possible to render in daz3d with a AMD card ?

I heard talk about IRay Being a propritary to Nvidia but is it possible without that ?

Thanks in advance

The AMD card won't be used, but you can do a (slow) CPU render.

Iray doesn't REQUIRE an NVidia GPU, but having one can make your renders much, much faster.

To get the idea here is a cpu vs gpu comparison on my system. Same rendering of the G8F figure with basic dress and hair.

    gtx 1060 gpu: 13 seconds, 800M ram, 2.8G vram

    ryzen 2200G cpu: 77 seconds, 500M ram, 0 vram

So the gpu is about 6x faster with iray, but it is also much more demanding in terms of memory. Also beware that if the scene will not fit into the gpu vram then iray will revert to cpu anyway, that's not an unusual case at all since daz assets take a lot of vram.
